Armed Security Guard Training Requirements in Georgia

Like other states, Georgia also has a set of requirements needed to be accomplished in order for you to qualify for an armed security guard license.

For an individual who wishes to become an armed security officer in the state of Georgia, he/she must be:

• At least 18 years of age 
• Must have a high school diploma or must have taken any equivalency examination 
• Must not be convicted of any felony or any crime involving weapons 
• Must have a valid driver’s license 
• Must not be convicted with acts of fraud 
• Must be a legal citizen or a resident alien of the United States 
• Must be in good physical condition 

In Georgia, the license for the security guard is separated from the firearms license. The Security Guard Act of 1992 indicates the security guard guidelines covered as well as the amendments that have been attached.
