the use of force, weapons training, professionalism in
the field of security and types of
arrest.
For an armed
security officer to be licensed, they must complete the 8
hour classroom security guard training for them to
be fully prepared for the job. For fingerprints, the
Federal Bureau of Investigation is requiring applicants
to submit their fingerprint as mandated. This is done to
ensure that applicants have not committed any crimes in
the past. Take note that any applicants with serious
criminal history and has a drug or alcohol dependency
will be disqualified from being
licensed.
Armed security
officers can almost work anywhere especially in the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. They can work in hotels,
banks, hospitals, malls, airports, bus stations, train
stations and many more. They must be alert and can
respond skillfully in case an emergency or threat
surfaces.
In Puerto
Rico, the license for an armed security guard is good for
2 years. This is then renewed every year and license
owners must take a refresher course in order for its
validity to continue.
