Training Requirements in Montana
(Unarmed)
The
mountainous state of Montana requires a license for
unarmed security guards. Like other states, there are
sets of rules and regulations to be followed as well as
requirements to be passed in order to qualify you for the
position. To fully qualify, the hiring agency must also
train their unarmed security
officer.
Here are the basic
requirements for the unarmed security officers in
Montana:
- Must be at
least 18 years old.
- Must be a
resident of the United States.
- Must have
a valid driver’s license.
- Must have
a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have
good communication skills.
- Must be
healthy both physically and
mentally.
- Must
provide proof of citizenship if he/she is a resident
alien.
- Must
successfully pass a FBI and Montana Department of
Justice background check.
- Must
provide a passport photo showing full face, head and
shoulders.
- Must be
employed by a licensed security agency or proprietary
company.
- Must
provide proof of training.
- Must be
able to submit all requirements and has paid all fees
needed.
- Must
complete finger print card from Montana Board of
Private security office.
Unlike armed
security guards, the training an unarmed security officer
may vary. It is the hiring company’s responsibility to
train their unarmed officer. Class course may be 8 hours
or more. A basic security guard training is conducted
and may include the following but additional courses may
also be added depending on the
training.

Unarmed
security officers can work almost anywhere. The state of
