Training Requirements in Nevada
(Unarmed)
All US states
have requirements for any person that wants to work as an
unarmed security guard. As mandated by the Nevada Private
Investigators Licensing Board, there are certain
qualifications one must meet in order to obtain a
license.
There are rules to be followed in order
to become an unarmed security officer. Trainings and
class hours are needed to be accomplished. However for
those who are aiming to work at casinos and pubs around
Nevada, you have to obtain a license from the Sherriff’s
officer along with your Nevada state

guard. This training is in preparation for an unarmed
guard to work in the many areas of this job. Emergency
situations, dealing with criminals and police or medical
technicians are only among the others that the applicant
must learn and understand. The training will consist of
crowd control, legal issues, written reports, ethical
issues, observation, detaining shoplifters, emergency
training as well as CPR. Once the license is obtained, a
refresher course is mandated to be taken yearly for it to
stay valid.
Other
trainings may be added for an unarmed security guard.
This may include how to operate and monitor surveillance
cameras and alarm systems in casinos, office buildings
and other areas that are equipped with security cameras.
Take note that unarmed security officers are not allowed
to carry firearms without any authorization from the
state of Nevada or any weapons training. So they are
qualified for low risk employment. Once the license is
approved and given, this bearer of the license is
required to have a 6 hours refresher course in order to
comply with its validity.
Unarmed
security officers can work at almost everywhere. The
state of Nevada is almost open for all kinds of business
so it is not impossible for an unarmed security guard not
to have any work. Casinos, hotels, airports, and other
business establishments are already booming in this
beautiful state so might as well grab the opportunity.
Meeting all the requirements and qualification is the
first important thing to do.
