Security Guard
Training Requirements in Oklahoma
(Unarmed)
The state of Oklahoma
is open for those who are interested to work as an unarmed
security guard. This beautiful state gives individuals the
chance to be a part of their society as the one who deters
crime and other illegal activities. In order to be an unarmed
security officer in the state of Oklahoma, applicants must
first meet the qualifications needed. One must also complete
the training required before their license is fully
granted.
The following list is
the basic requirements needed for any individual whose interest
is to apply as an unarmed security
guard:
- Applicants must
be a legal citizen of the United
States
- Must have a
proof of
residency
- Must be at
least 18 years
old
- Must be of good
moral character
- Applicants must
not be dependent to any drugs or
narcotic
- Must not have
any alcohol
dependence
- Must not be
convicted of any
felony
- Must have a
valid driver’s license in the state of
Oklahoma
- Applicants must
be mentally and physically
fit
- Must have no
physical disabilities that can impede him/her in her
performance as a security
officer
- Must have
his/her police or Sheriff record
check
- Applicants must
have an insurance letter from employer or surety
bond
- Must submit two
colored passport size
pictures
- Must submit at
least 2 CLEET fingerprint
cards
- Must be able to
successfully complete the required training
requirements
- Applicants must
be signed and
notarized
- Must be able to
speak, read and understand the English
language
- Must be able to
answer all the questions on application form
completely or it will be
rejected
All requirements must be completed and
must pass the State exams within 180 days from the date
of application. Take note that applicants must also
complete the CLEET or the Council on Law Enforcement
Education and Training approved courses in order to have
your license as an unarmed security officer. Fees and
payments must also be made before passing your
application form.
All applicants must complete at least 8
hours of security guard training. An
individual with a license must have continued education
training in order to maintain their licenses. Applicants
with any comparable training or experience must provide a
proof of their training upon application. Such comparable
training may be granted to those who are Oklahoma Peace
Officers, out of state full-time Police Officers,
Military Police, Reserve Officers and Oklahoma
Correctional Officer
training.
